Diabetes Complications

Diabetes is a serious and chronic disease that usually develops complications gradually for both type 1 and type 2.

These may include:

* Eye disease that can lead to blindness….
* Nerve damage that can lead to numbness and foot ulcers.
* Kidney disease that can lead to kidney dysfunction.
* Atherosclerosis in the heart and blood vessels that can lead to angina, myocardial infarction and stroke.

The complications comes after many years. However, in type 2 diabetics these complications may occur more rapidly as in many cases even at the time of diagnosis because it might have gone a long time without controling the slowly rising

We know from large studies, that good diabetes control can completely prevent or greatly reduce the risk of developing complications if you start to manage it early by keeping a good diet and exercising in order to keep blood pressure, kidney and blood fats under control.
